For my part, though, the plan is to work until I drop dead or Alzheimer's takes hold and I can't remember exactly where the office is. My only possibly suspect advice is now that you can afford to take the extra time, buy a Leica and couple of Summiluxs and focus for yourself. For those wanting to go their own way, there can be an ungodly level of satisfaction in that.

All the very, very best,
Ron Mann Tailwaggerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12984340690119895602noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6308043776555796707.post-72835355004604430612017-05-08T19:46:39.019-07:002017-05-08T19:46:39.019-07:00I loved this blog entry very much, Ben!

I have worked at instituting work life balance back in my life the last few years. I see no issue keeping my-self busy when I make the step. Insurance is the only puzzle piece holding me back at the moment. I personally find it inspiring to see this choice from you. Many of us have had incredibly successful and rewarding careers. Stepping aside opens up opportunity for others. As we seek new adventures we also will be able to influence, share and help others further creating more opportunity and growth for those around us. wphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13501745536137987918noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6308043776555796707.post-32535199912071408302016-10-25T11:11:41.240-07:002016-10-25T11:11:41.240-07:00I hope you are correct. Offering references for your numbers would be appreciated.

To counter your claim, Wikipedia (just to name one source) claims that 1.7 million people were killed in the crusades, 5.9 million killed in the Thirty Year's war, 1.5 million in the Armenian genocide. That's just three wars.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_wars_and_anthropogenic_disasters_by_death_toll

Hitler, Stalin, Mao, and Pol Pot were evil and noone is defending them. In the case of religiously motivated warfare, however, the perpetrators were indeed taking orders from their imaginary friends.

Also, why are we limiting ourselves to "deaths"? Does that mean torture, imprisonment, sexual abuse, and other atrocities in the name of religion are acceptable?Ben Fathihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08846664167155717636noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6308043776555796707.post-46199839936994181662016-05-21T07:41:37.391-07:002016-05-21T07:41:37.391-07:00It is truly good that no warranties are implied as...It is truly good that no warranties are implied as one would be necessary if we were to take this "Looooonnnggg," post seriously. According to records, religious warfare accounts for about 2-4 million deaths in the world since any records were kept. Hitler, Stalin and Mao managed better than that in each week. Let's do enter the corridors of Lucretius and find ourselves to be the arbiters of human worth as Pol Pot did. Delightful.
